James Hershman

James Hershman, Jr., served on the Senior Faculty of Governmental Affairs at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management; on the Senior Staff at the Brookings Institute; and as a Senior Fellow for the Government Affairs Institute at Georgetown University, where he is presently a Lecturer for the Graduate Liberal Studies Program. He has published articles in the Virginia Quarterly Review and the Journal of Negro Education; an essay in The Moderates’ Dilemma: Massive Resistance to School Desegregation in Virginia (1998) entries in the Dictionary of Virginia Biography and the online Encyclopedia Virginia; and the afterword for Scalawag: A White Southerner’s Journey through Segregation to Human Rights Activism (2014).
